Road Safety

Safe Roads, Safe Lives

Road safety is a shared responsibility. Every day, simple mistakes such as speeding, not wearing a helmet or seat belt, using a mobile phone while driving, and ignoring traffic rules can put lives at risk.

Zindagi Foundation works to promote responsible road behaviour through awareness programs, school activities and community campaigns.

Our Focus Areas:

  • Helmet and seat belt awareness
  • Following traffic rules
  • Avoiding distracted driving
  • Preventing drink-and-drive
  • Safe speeds and responsible driving
  • Pedestrian safety
  • School road safety

2. Helmet Awareness

Wear a Helmet. Protect Your Life.

A helmet is an important safety measure for two-wheeler riders. We encourage riders and passengers to wear a properly fitted helmet and make helmet use a regular habit.

Our Awareness Activities:

  • Helmet safety campaigns
  • Community awareness sessions
  • Student education programs
  • Demonstrations on responsible riding
  • Encouraging families to make helmet use a priority

Our Message:
Every Ride. Every Time. Wear a Helmet.

3. Seat Belt Awareness

Seat Belts Save Lives

Seat belts are one of the simplest ways to improve safety while travelling in a car. Zindagi Foundation encourages drivers and passengers to wear seat belts throughout every journey.

We Promote:

  • Seat belt use by drivers
  • Seat belt use by front and rear passengers
  • Safe travel habits
  • Awareness among young people
  • Responsible behaviour on every journey

Safety starts before the vehicle moves. Buckle up every time.

4. Don’t Drink & Drive

Never Drink and Drive

Driving requires attention, judgement and control. Alcohol can seriously affect these abilities and increase the risk of road crashes.

Zindagi Foundation promotes awareness about the dangers of driving under the influence and encourages people to plan a safe alternative rather than taking the wheel after drinking.

Our Campaign Message:

  • Don’t drive after drinking
  • Don’t allow others to drive under the influence
  • Encourage responsible travel choices
  • Spread awareness among friends and family

One responsible decision can protect many lives.

5. Don’t Use Mobile While Driving

Eyes on the Road. Phone Away.

Using a mobile phone while driving can distract the driver from the road and surrounding traffic. Even a moment of distraction can create serious risks.

Our awareness campaigns encourage drivers to keep their phones away while driving and focus completely on the road.

We Encourage:

  • No texting while driving
  • No unnecessary phone use while driving
  • Keeping the phone away or on silent
  • Stopping safely before using the phone
  • Creating responsible driving habits

Drive first. Use your phone later.

6. Speed & Traffic Rules

Follow the Rules. Control Your Speed.

Traffic rules exist to protect everyone on the road. Responsible driving means respecting speed limits, traffic signals, road signs and other road users.

Zindagi Foundation conducts awareness activities to encourage people to understand and follow basic traffic rules.

Our Focus:

  • Follow speed limits
  • Obey traffic signals
  • Follow road signs
  • Maintain a safe distance
  • Avoid dangerous driving
  • Respect pedestrians and cyclists
  • Follow lane discipline

Responsible driving makes roads safer for everyone.

7. School Road Safety

Teaching Children Safe Road Habits

Children are among the most vulnerable road users. Early education can help them develop safe habits as pedestrians, cyclists and passengers.

Zindagi Foundation promotes road safety awareness in schools through interactive educational activities and community programs.

School Programs Include:

  • Pedestrian safety awareness
  • Safe road-crossing practices
  • Understanding traffic signals
  • School-zone safety
  • Safe behaviour near roads
  • Awareness for students, parents and teachers

Our goal is to help every child learn how to stay safe on the road.

8. Road Safety Pledge

Take the Road Safety Pledge

Road safety begins with individual responsibility. Through our Road Safety Pledge, we encourage people to commit to safer and more responsible behaviour on the road.

I Pledge To:

  • Follow traffic rules and signals
  • Wear a helmet when riding a two-wheeler
  • Wear a seat belt while travelling in a car
  • Never drive after drinking
  • Never use a mobile phone while driving
  • Follow speed limits
  • Respect pedestrians and other road users
  • Encourage my family and friends to follow safe road practices

“I will do my part to make our roads safer for everyone.”
